2010 BOOKLIST

reading 300x43 2010 BOOKLIST

This all started back in 2007 when Alivicwil and I set out to read 50 books in a year. I ended up reading 54 in total.  So in 2008 I decided I would try and read 60 books.  I didn’t make it.  I again set the challenge in 2009 and once again I didn’t reach the magical number.

I love the challenge (and I love reading) so I’m determined to get to 60.  Hopefully 2010 will be the year.

Read the Printed Word!

With all the reading I do, it’s funny that this iws one thing I absolutely cannot do – set a number of books to read in a given time. I’m a horrible judge of how quickly I’ll finish a book – sometimes I read really fast and other times I’m ridiculously slow. And of course when I’m taking classes, my reading for pleasure takes a big hit. Actually last year was the first time I ever specifically kept count of how many books I read. (85 if you’re curious.)

Anyway, good luck with the reading goal!

85?!?!?! Crumbs. I struggled last year. I think it’s because my head wasn’t in a great space. I always seem to go strong in the first half of the year and then it tapers off. I think my strategy this year will be to go hard early and try and get the 60 out of the way before the year is over.

Wish me luck!

Pfft, 85 is nothing. I think Lady O read well over 100. And frankly, that was the first time I ever counted how many books I’d read in a given span of time (since elementary school when I was in a book report contest and had to read like 15 in a month). So it’s likely that’s a low number for me. But I read a lot less for pleasure when classes are going, so who knows.

I have to say, Goodreads has been a nice way to organize my read/to-read books. And a nice way to find some recs too.

Add Boneshaker to your reading list. I think you’ll love it. Written by a Northwest (US) author. Fun, steam punk adventure, and my first read involving zombies. LOL! It’s fun.

I should keep count like you do, as I MUST read about 2 books a month. :-)

Cheers to your 2010 adventures!

I’ll look for it at the bookstore and see if I can get my hands on it. Love a good zombie book!

It helps to keep a list. If you’re anything like me I tend to forget what I have and haven’t read so it comes in handy when I’m chasing books from a bookstore, etc.

Yours too. May we have many together. :)
