Welcome to the week we’ve all been dreading; pineapple log cabins! I confess I was putting these off and putting them off because I thought they’d be a pain in the butt, but I was pleasantly surprised. The act of sewing the rounds became really meditative and I found I really enjoyed making these blocks. I didn’t enjoy it so much that when I noticed (after going to all the effort to make sure the text all ran the right way) I’d sewn a block in upside down that I was going to unpick those bazillion tiny stitches to fix it! No sir, that block is going to be the one little odd man out.
Now, before you rush off to start sewing there’s a little bit of news I need to share with you all…. amnesty week! There’s been so many of you that have been keeping up and for whatever reason, let’s call it Life, things have gotten in the way and you might have missed a week or two. Well, we’ve heard and we want to give you a chance to get back in the race. For the week of 28 June to 4 July you can post a block photo of one or more of the blocks you might have missed (follow the entry requirements for posting photos as per below) and you’ll be back in the running for prizes. This means that if you missed posting your log cabins for example, you can post them between 12:01am 28 June to 11:59pm 4 July in your timezone and you’ll be back in the running to win one of these amazing prizes. At the end of the event we need to be able to see at least one photo of every block type in the pattern on your feed and they need to meet all of the entry requirements for you to be in the running. This will move all remaining dates out by one week. We’ll post more details about how the amnesty will work and the new timetable for next week’s blog post.
Without further ado, let’s get down to pineapple making.
