CREATIVE SPACE: WORK IN PROGRESS

bunny050410 2 CREATIVE SPACE: WORK IN PROGRESS

Idol hands are the devil’s play ground, so I’ve been putting mine to work on some stitching projects.  I’m really enjoying the meditative process of stitching.  I can just zone out for awhile and do a project while HUBBY and I sit on the couch together.  I love it.

I’m still searching for the best way to transfer patterns from photocopies to fabric, so if you have any ways I’d love to hear about them!

This project is using the iron-on pencil method. Only problem I have to put the pattern on the back of the fabric because it’s not removable and I don’t want the line markings showing.  It’s been interesting trying to stitch back-to-front.

If you’d like to see more creative spaces head on over to Kootoyoo.

Wash out marker.

You just trace the design onto the fabric & then it washes out once you’ve done your stitching.

Looks great for backward stitching. I second tge washout marker, just make sure it is wash out not fade out or your markings will disappear before you want them too.

Hope to see you at Brown Owls this month.

I just used a wash out marker to trace for the first time. It worked great. I have a clip board that I tape the design on then the fabric. It’s lime green but almost clear. I can get a light behind it if the fabrics darker. Don’t have a clipboard, you can tape to a sunny window. It’s fun figuring out ways to get it done.

I’m guessing, a bunny, maybe a bear, will have to return and find out.
