Janice has been a long-time addict of all things fabric and sewing.  She began her career designing and sewing costumes for theatre, and she holds a master of fine arts in costume design from Carnegie Mellion University.  The birth of her children (and the creation of her first baby quilt) took her in a new direction, where she discovered her love of quilting.  Janice is co-author of The Modern Medallion Workbook released by C&T publishing in Spring 2015 and she teaches classes at Sew Modern, in Los Angeles. You can find tips, patterns, and tutorials on her blog

My introduction to quilting consisted of a quick fling with a coin quilt in 2009. The chemistry couldn’t be denied and soon developed into a very serious sewing relationship that has endured until today. I now love spending all my spare time sewing, writing quilt patterns and publishing tutorials on my blog.

I’m a recent transplant to California from Atlanta, and a newly minted SAHM. I funnel what’s left of my frazzled, sleep deprived energy from raising two toddler-dictators into sewing and quilting. When I’m not sewing I’m either changing diapers, watching Elmo, or coming up with creative ideas to avoid the chores so I can get back to sewing.

I’m french, 49, married, mom of two grown up boys still-at-home-college-students. I’m a dentist, still working as one! My practice is only 3 minutes walk away from home which allows me to come back home sometimes during the day and work on my second job : e-shop owner and blogger. I have been quilting for 21 years, discovered machine piecing and quilting about 15 years ago through the internet. I have been using Marti’s templates from the beginning of my quilting journey and in 2012 I got the great chance to meet her and her husband Richard. Since then, my life changed ! I created the e-shop and haven’t stopped teaching and initiating people to using the templates! (Classes, online videos, tutorials, etc) It always amazes me how great, easy, fast and mostly fun this templates and rulers are. I even participate to quilt shows since 2012, about twice a year. In September, we hold a booth at the European Patchwork Meeting in Alsace with Marti and Richard joining us for the 4 days which is both a great honor and great fun. My english comes from 4 years spent in Dallas, TX during high school, back in the 80’s.

I live in Hamilton, New Zealand with my husband and three children. Seven years ago mum helped me make my first quilt and I’ve been hooked ever since. I quilt from our dining room table, it’s the perfect spot to keep an eye on the children and make sure dinner isn’t burning.

I am an ex-Londoner who is now ‘living the dream’ in a picturesque wine town in sunny South Australia with my husband and our two little ones. I quilt, crochet, and embroider, and hand-made elements such as hand-quilting, embroidery, and paper piecing feature frequently in my projects. I have a large collection of repro 30s fabrics which I can’t wait to dig into for my Farmer’s Wife quilt!

Inspired by a rich family heritage of generations of women who love and loved sewing and creating, Sherri began to sew when she received a sewing machine for her tenth birthday; in the early 1990’s she began quilting thanks to the gentle persuasion of her grandmother. After discovering quilt blogs and the on-line community of quilters she began her blog in the summer of 2008 as a means of recording her quilting life and journey. She has been publishing her designs in magazines and books since 2011; she has two books with C&T Publishing, A Quilting Life: Creating a Handmade Home (2013) and Fresh Family Traditions: 18 Heirloom Quilts for a New Generation (2014). Being able to design fabric for Moda is truly a dream come true.
