If you’re anything like me you tend to forget Father’s Day until the last minute and then panic that you can’t find anything to buy. Well not this year, my friends! This year I’m putting together a series of gift guides for the man in your life. The first gift guide deals with an oldie but a goodie; ties.
My Dad doesn’t wear ties that often, but my spunk of a Husband dons one everyday so I thought I’d put together a collection of ties that any male might like to wear. Here they are:
1. Topographical Error – This one would be a great gift for the lads in my office. Maps are trendy at the moment and what better way to include them then in your wardrobe. It’s the original version of Google Maps.
2. Skull Damask – This for the Dad that’s not left his punk roots behind. I love the inclusion of old with new. Also, it’s not everyday you see neon green in a tie. Bold, but lovable.
3. Clock Worx – A nice motif for the man that likes to tinker. It’s a great colour tie and the detail in the image is wonderful.
4. Rampant Lion – A nod to the Mother Country with this regal lion. I’m a big fan of all things British and this is a great color combination to boot. GOD save the Queen and all that jazz.
5. Antique Phonograph – For the older gentleman in your family, make him feel modern in these great color ties but let him shout out his heritage with this old school image from the time before the iPod.
6. Let Them Eat Cake – I love the smarts in this tie. The front has Marie Antoinette’s Coat of Arms and signature, while the back has a guillotine. It made me chuckle.
7. Skeletie – This may be the only way some people get a backbone! I’m thinking of sending one to Malcolm Turnbull.
8. Silk Wind Turbine – Perfect for the environmentalist in your life. They send a great message about sustainable living, and turn something that some people think are hideous into a nice bit of fashion.
9. Unicorn – This image is great and it’s screen printed in a very manly berry ink. I’m tempted to get one of these for when I want to “man up” and wear a suit and tie into the office. (Did I mention I’m the only girl in my area at work?)
10. Prix-Prix – This is a nice twist on the old necktie gift. Using old ties to make funky new wallets. I love it! There’s some great patterns and color combinations, check them out!
♥ These images really don’t do the ties justice, so if you’ve got the time I strongly recommend checking them out up close & personal over at Etsy.

It could… I’m not 100% sure whether ties are part of his work dress code, though. I’ll have to check.

Although; tie, apron and hat could make for some fun in other places…

Those ties are awesome. When is father’s day? Is it next week or the week after?
Beautiful looking blog.

Thanks – they’re not the “norm” which is something I like.
It’s the first Sunday of September… I think… oh man I’m bad with it – let me just check with Hallmark! Sunday 6 September :)
Thanks for the compliment and thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment. Really appreciate it! Thank you!
