And just like that I’m down for the count. Stupid food poisoning. It’s been a bumpy 72 hours and it’s still not over so I’m going to be laying low this week. If you’re looking for this week’s #52WeekswiththeQuiltersPlanner post I will have it up shortly. I was waiting on photographs when I got sick and I just haven’t had the energy to be able to do anything until now, and even now it’s a bit touch and go. I’m just counting my blessings that I’m the only one in our little house that’s gotten it. I have no idea what I ate that was different to the boys, but I’m past questioning it now and just hoping for it to end.
This week is going to be a little bit rough because the Little Man starts pre-school and I’m so not ready for that. I don’t know what it is about going to school that freaks me out, but it’s like he’s all of a sudden just grown up. I’m so used to the last 4 years of us doing our own thing and not being beholden to anyone and now we’re going to have to be at school on time, picked up on time, lunches made, uniforms cleaned – it just seems so…. real. It’s crazy I know, but for some reason I feel like with the start of school the clock will just be sped up. Now we’ll have a calendar of events to be tied too and it’ll make the passing of time so much quicker. I’m not ready to say good bye to my little guy just yet.
We’d always talked about this year being the year that we go back to IVF and use our remaining embryos, but I have to be honest here, the thought of going through all of that again scares me to my core. I feel like we got so super lucky that I don’t want to risk it. So much can go wrong and the impacts that it could have on our little family are huge. I don’t think I have it in me to do that. And besides, I’m going to be 40 in May! Forty. It’s been hitting me in waves lately. I’m excited to be forty, I’m just not excited to physically be forty. I remember picking the Little Man up when he was 3 month old and groaning.. and I was 35 then. What would it be like at forty!?!
Enough navel gazing! I’m already behind on my to-do list today and I really need to go lay down, so I’m going to slink off into the dark and sleep. I hope you have a most most fabulous day and a super productive week!
