Well that was a long week… The school holidays started last week so I’ve had the Little Man home keeping me company all week and I’ve been feeling seedy for the past week. It’s been great to have time with him, but it’s been slow going trying to get work done in-between entertaining, trying not to come down with a cold and making food. Then HUBBY came down with the flu on Thursday. Legit flu, not just a nasty cold. I haven’t been that worried about him in a long time. I hate seeing him sick. Out of the three of us he’s the one that tends to be the most robust when it comes to avoiding illness. Work just ground to a halt last week and now it’s the start of a new week and I still have both the boys at home. I don’t foresee much getting done this week either and I’m hoping that my cold blows over and I don’t get the flu. But that’s the beauty of doing what I do, I’m in control and I can be flexible about how I get things done. The only downside is fighting my internal voice that keeps telling me I’m screwing up by not having stuff done on time, etc. But that will pass.
I did manage to squeeze in a blog redesign last week. It’s not a massive change, more a freshen up but I’m liking it. I still have some tweaks to make but it’ll work for now. I don’t often like to change things that are working, but I needed to spring clean. It’s weird how a bit of a tidy up can reinvigorate. I like to keep a clean working space, but on the weekend I did a big move and dust everything type of tidy up and it’s so nice to be sitting in a super clean space again. Now if I could just build up the stamina to go through and spring clean the Little Man’s room and the laundry.
I’ve been trying to squeeze in sewing in-between playing nurse and keeping the family entertained. I’m so far behind on everything it’s not funny. I have a couple of projects that I need to get out of the house and off my plate and once they’re done I know I’ll be feeling lighter about the workload. I don’t know why I procrastinate so bad on stuff I dislike. If I could improve that aspect of my personality I’d be crushing it in the life department. Guess I’d better stop typing and get back to working (and making sure the boys are comfortable). I hope you have a super fabulous week filled with love, laughter and fabric fondling!
