It’s official we’ve all got the plague. Well, less then we did a few days ago, but it’s still not great. HUBBY is finally coming around but he’s still got a pesky cough and the Little Man and I have been battling with the flu all week. It’s just been the pits. The good thing though is that we’re on the improve and things are starting to get back to normal again. I’m just so far behind on everything that it’s not funny. I’m seriously thinking I need a sewing room intern. Know anyone that would be happy to work for fabric? *wink*
Last week I managed to carve out some vertical time to get the information ready and posted for the next two events that are kicking off the first week of August; Tula Pink’s Butterfly Quilt Sew-along and Jen Kingwell’s Gypsy Wife Quilt Sew-along. I hope you’ll have patience with me as I sort out the sponsors and prizes and get that information up on the blog shortly. I’ve tried to make things as easy as possible by putting the block order, etc. up already so those of you that like to plan can get things ready. I’ll tell you now, it’s going to be full on. The Butterfly quilt is easy, there’s just a lot of blocks to make and the Gypsy Wife is a little more complicated but less blocks to make up front (just don’t look at the end of it!). I’m chomping at the bit to get started on them, I just need to finish off a few things here first (and recover from winter!).
I wish I had more to share with you today, but given the events (or lack there of) from the past two weeks this is going to be short and sweet (just like HUBBY). Wishing you a super fabulous week filled with love, laughter and fabric fondling!
One of my all time favourite quilt blocks and Art Gallery Fabrics have put together a great video and tutorial on how to make it. Click here to read more.
I loved this post from Mood (Thank you Mood!) about fabric terms every sewist should know – how many did you know? Click here to read more.
How awesome is this pattern and tutorial from Missouri Star Quilt Company? I love this quilt because it kinda looks hard, but it’s totally not. Click here to read more.
Loving this School House Block Tutorial from Lori Holt. I’m just collecting all these tutorials to make in a sampler style quilt one day. (One day when I sew without deadlines!) Click here to read more.
