It’s all about winning stuff, making stuff and learning stuff

Only two more working weeks until I am on Christmas vacation and I can’t wait. I’m itching to get in and sew something other than Farmer’s Wife blocks or projects I have for others. I find myself thinking about all the amazing fabric I have piling up in my sewing room and I get physically restless and start to really resent being unable to get into my sewing space and create. It’s weird because I’m sewing nearly every second day at the moment, but I don’t feel like I’m making anything that’s got me excited. (That’s a bit of a stretch because I have a couple of things for Fat Quarter Shop coming up that are really fun and I’ve been chomping at the bit to share them!)
Plans are underway for HUBBY’s new adventure. Looks like Little Man and I will be staying home instead of going to Boston now. It was just too last minute and between the cost (dang exchange rate!) and the weather (we just got over the winter illnesses) it makes more sense (but less fun) for us to stay here this time. However, it has stepped up my planning for getting over to the US for Quilt Market this year, so I’ve not given up the dream completely.
Speaking of dreams coming true, Ikea opened in Canberra last month and I’ve found myself there twice in the past week. I’ve dreamed of living in a town that has an Ikea since I was 20 and now it’s happened and I’m already planning the things we’ll do with access to all the amazing Swedish design options. Maybe Ikea will be how I keep myself distracted while Hubby is off on his adventure.
Right, I have sewing to do and it’s not going to happen if I don’t get off the internet. I hope you have an amazing day!
