Battle of the Blocks 2020 – Round 3 Winners

Round 3 of Battle of the Blocks saw a first – a tie! Things are really starting to get tricky with our block makers. I can’t wait to see what punches Round 4 delivers!

How Winners Are Chosen

Players in the Battle of the Blocks 2020 Bracket will go head-to-head in a sudden death vote off. Voters will choose between 2 blocks with the winner progressing to another round.

Players in the Wild Card Draw will battle against each other with the block that receives the least amount of votes being removed from the competition. Wild Card players are playing for the chance to enter the bracket rounds.

Winners will be announced before the next round of voting opens. When winners are announced I will also publish the voting results for transparency.

General Information

The following information about the event has been provided to aid in transparency and understanding of how this event works.

  • Players are allowed to use any fabrics, in any combination, in their blocks. The only rules they have for the blocks is that they must follow the block instructions as per the pattern. This means all seams are in the right place (blocks can be rotated in their presentation) and that they’re the same scale as the pattern.
  • I have not edited any of the block submission photos. The photos are displayed exactly as they have been submitted. Players are allowed to style their photos in any way they like as long as it doesn’t identify them.
  • All players must remain anonymous. Players have been allocated a code name (we went with something very generic for this to save on any additional drama that may have arisen out of using more colourful code names for people) to keep their identities safe. Code names have been developed with a Letter based on the pattern they nominated (K = Kinship, M = Make the Cut and W = Wild Card).
  • Players have all been given the same amount of time to make and submit their blocks.
  • Players nominated the pattern they wished to use to make their blocks. Where a match up occurs with players who have nominated different patterns the organiser will work with both players to decide on which pattern/block/theme combination will be used to make the playing field as fair as possible.
  • Players will forfeit their position if they fail to submit their block on time, submit a block that does not adhere to the rules or are found to have revealed their identity to solicit votes. Organiser reserves the right to bring back a player, substitute a player or add a wild card player into a spot that has been forfeited.
  • Games are given an identifier for ease of administration. They are based on the following convention R0101 = Round 01 [Game] 01
  • The organiser will at times throw in a wild card challenge to keep things interesting. All players will be given ample notification of this happening and will be able to choose how they respond to it without detriment to their standing in the league.
