Beginner Patchwork 101: How to Sew an Hourglass (aka Quarter Square Triangle)

I love teaching beginner patchwork and this Hourglass glass block is one of the foundational units for traditional patchwork and quilting. This method uses a trim to size process which will make 2 quarter square triangles (or Hourglass) at a time. Conquer this block and you’re well on your way to making some of the most famous patchwork blocks available.
