CRAFTY | HAPPY HALLOWEEN

With today being Halloween I thought it only fitting to share with you all my current progress on my 2 Halloween themed projects.

Here’s where I’m at with my Halloween Sampler from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery

I’ve been trying to squeeze in stitching time whenever I can, and that’s not very often.  I’m enjoying seeing it come together and loving the effect that the black aida is giving it (although it’s doing no favours for my eyes!).  I’m not exactly sure what I’m going to do with it when it’s done, I’m thinking I might frame it and put it up in my sewing room… but who knows might be one for our bedroom instead.

I’ve also gotten a fair bit done on the Zombie Bear Paw…

I gave up doing it one block at a time and decided to chain piece it. So over the period of a week I managed to cut out 12 blocks and sew them altogether.

Because my mind is not what it used to be I had to assemble all the HST’s and then arrange them in the order they would be seen in the blocks and then sew them together.

Once I got on a roll it was so relaxing to just have the pieces coming together in a big group.

I’ve come to the conclusion that making a quilt is like making a sausage; you don’t want to see how it’s made you just want to enjoy the end product!

I still have one more block (I ran out of unique Halloween fabric but that’s been rectified!), the sashing and cornerstones to do and then it’s on to working out how I’m going to do the back of the quilt. I’m planning something a little different for the back, but that relies on me getting the time to do it and that’s not looking to promising. But on the whole I’m quietly happy with how things are progressing.

Who knows maybe tonight I’ll get a creative boost and get one of these finished on All Hallow’s Eve!
