Link Love: A Mother’s Lament & Some Cute Crafts

I totally jinxed myself a couple of weeks ago by boldly declaring that our Son hadn’t been sick in awhile and I thought he might finally be getting a run of good health. I don’t know why I did it to myself. The minute the words left my lips I knew my battleship was sunk. We’ve just had the week from h e double hockey sticks. Let me just give you the highlights, they involve crankiness, lack of sleep, an overabundance of green bodily fluids and not one, but two, poops in our bed. Trying to get anything done in amongst that has been a Herculean effort.
I’ve been plugging away on things in the background but I’m getting frustrated with just how slow I am at the moment and how I can’t seem to get any momentum. I know it’s only temporary but right now it sucks. I came back from Sydney full of inspiration and ready to attack everything and now I just feel, blah. Again, I know it’s only temporary and it’s being exasperated by the plague that’s infesting our house but it sucks. There’s only one thing for it; sunshine.ย This week I’m determined that we’re going to get out and enjoy the sunshine. I’m so tired of being stuck in the house, the dark winter days and the constant cold. I need some sun. A trip to the beach also wouldn’t go astray, but I’ll take what I can get.
I’m also taking joy in the silly outcome of the Australian election. I’ve really enjoyed not having confirmation of which Party will be running the country. For a brief little moment there’s no one to complain about (despite people still trying to do it), there’s no one to rally against (although there are those that are) and there’s no one to be peddling the fear and ignorance that’s been sweeping our Nation. It’s a nice little reprieve that won’t last long (decision is probably known by now).
I’ve got a big week of just plugging away at the to-do list. I just hope that the little man and I can get some quality sleep and get into a rhythm. It’s just a simple request to the universe, it’s not world peace. *wink*
I hope you have an amazing day!
