Link Love: Glorious Rain

The rains are here! I’m so thrilled to be sitting here watching the rain fall. My prayer is that it’s falling where it’s needed most, in the towns impacted by the severe drought and on the nation’s fire grounds. It’s been such a crazy start to the year – there’s towns now that are dealing with flooding that were only weeks ago dealing with fires.

My quick overnight trip to Brisbane last week to see Michael Buble with my Mother was fun. We’d booked it way back in the middle of last year and then had sort of half forgotten about it, half pushed it aside to deal with everything else, so it was a bit surreal to be in Brisbane together for a long overdue girl’s only adventure. An overnight jaunt goes so fast. We were there and then we were back in our regular lives.

It’s another short week this week because I’m attending this class at Addicted to Fabric on Thursday and Friday. It’s another thing I booked before the world went crazy. It’s been years since I took a class that wasn’t about or for work. I’m really looking forward to learning a new skill set and meeting some new creative types.

I have so much to do that I need to be super productive in the couple of days I am at work. It’ll mean lots of speed sewing and typing! I hope you have a chance to do something fun this week. Wishing you a fabulous week filled with love, laughter and much fabric fondling!

Week 2 of the 9 Patch Parade started this week. It’s all about sharing what you’re making and I can’t wait to see what you’re getting up to.ย

Each month we’ll be making a project based on a Marti Michell 9 Patch Pattern (as shown above). The 9 Patch block is super simple, as long as you’re working in a measurement divisible by 3. If you want to make them in any other size you’ll need to work in metric! *wink* Well not any more! With the 9 Patch Rulers from Marti Michell you can now make 9 patch blocks in 7 sizes (2″, 3″, 4″, 4.5″, 5″, 6″ and 8″) all without having to do the math. You can use the rulers to strip piece or fussy cut your blocks. It’s genius! I can’t wait to share with you the projects I’ve been making with these rulers and spend 2020 helping you to sew some super awesome projects! Click here to read all about the event, or click here to purchase the rulers.
