Leanne is going to be blogging about her Sea Breeze Mini at her blog Daisy and Jack. Annabel will be sharing images of her Sea Breeze Mini over on her instagram account.

You can read a little bit about them both here before heading to their internet homes to check out their fabulous work. How very exciting!

1. How did you come to be a quilter?

I used to make cloth dolls and teddy bears and one day I picked up a quilting magazine and saw a quilt that I thought was really pretty so I put it together and as they say the rest is history! My mum is a quilter so I think that helped โ€“ I did make a churn dash block in the 90s with plastic templates and sewed it completely by hand so I think that really put me off making a large quilt โ€“ thank goodness for rotary cutters and sewing machines!

2. What is it that you love about being a quilter?

Fabric ! I love fabric and being able to make quilts is a bonus ! I also love that you can take some fabric and make something beautiful and functional!

3. Whatโ€™s your 3 favourite quilts that youโ€™ve made that reflect who you are as a quilter?

Groove quilt โ€“ย  (I) made it as part of a quilt along a couple of years ago โ€“ it’s still waiting to be quilted but I just love the top – I LOVE the colours I picked out for it!

I also love making mini quilts so a New York beauty cushion that I made for my mum is also a favourite and a swap quilt I made with Tula Pink fabrics is also one of my favs! Such a hard question though – like asking who your favourite child is!!

One thing I’ve noticed lately is that I like to make things where I learn new techniques as often as I can!

1. How did you come to be a quilter?

I needed a hobby when my (then) fiancรฉ was away for months at a time for work, and came across a patchwork store โ€ฆ. That was only the beginning of my love for sewing and all things fabric.

2. What is it that you love about being a quilter?

Being able to create something that can be used and adored is why I love to quilt; I love making gifts for others just as much as I love making things for our home. It allows me to be creative and keeps me sane! Itโ€™s my down-time obsession.

3. Whatโ€™s your 3 favourite quilts that youโ€™ve made that reflect who you are as a quilter?

My hexie quilt was all pieced by hand and put together by machine. I love it.
My trip around the world Christmas table cloth quilt, it was the first thing I made and all quilted myself. What a learning curve! We still use it every Christmas!
My husbandโ€™s 40th quilt โ€“ another challenge using triangles, minky backing and did the quilting. I really enjoyed making this and he loves it and uses it every day.
