Sizzix – A New Collaboration

Sizzix - Be Inspired. A few projects to get you started on your creative journey with Sizzix. Found at www.gnomeangel.comI’m really excited to announce that I will be partnering with Sizzix to provide you all with fabulous tutorials and projects that you can make with the range of Sizzixย products. I’m beyond thrilled as I really love these products (in fact I used a Sizzix machine to cut all the 2.5″ squaresย used to make Samuel’s Technicolour Yawn) because they provide crafters with the ability to cut multiple pieces at once with minimum fuss and maximum accuracy. They also allow you to reproduce the same components again and again and again – which is so great for those of us addicted to making.

If you’ve not heard of Sizzix before then let me blow your mind now with the possibilities. Sizzix produce a range of die-cutting and embossing machines. You can use the machines and dies for a variety of creative endeavours from scrapbooking, card making, sewing and patchwork. You can use the dies with felt, fabric, paper, cardstock, metallics and a whole range more. The possibilities for creativity are endless.

Over the coming weeks I’m going to share with you just how I’m using Sizzix to make my creative process easier and quicker and show you how you can as well. But before we get to all of that how would you like a chance to winย ยฃ200 worth of Sizzix products (including a Big Shot Express Machine)? It’s so easy with the Easter Egg Hunt that’s currently going on over at Sizzix. All you have to do is find the 5 eggs hidden around their website to go into the running. Click here to start hunting for your Easter Eggs and you could win!

Once you’ve found those Easter Eggs and entered why not stick around to see what else they have to offer. There’s a fabulous variety of free projects and tutorials, as well as some great competitions happening at the moment.

If you’re not convinced about the versatility of the dies then why not check out the One Die Many Ways section of their website (click here). I really love this section because it shows that the dies can be used across multiple crafts, which is great for those of you like me that just want to try and make everything.ย I seriously love that you can use the dies with fabrics and paper – it makes it so much easier in the craft room as I’m not having to store multiple tools and it also means that if I want to try a craft I’ve not done before I already have the tools. (Not to mention value for money as you’re only buying one tool to do a gajillion (that’s a proper mathematical term, right?) projects!)

One Die Many Ways with Sizzix - Be Inspired!

Basically I could go on and on about how fabulous this product is and how I’m super stoked to be asked to work with Sizzix, but if you’re anything like me you just want to see the pretties and find out how you can use them yourself, so I’m going to leave you with a few links to Sizzix projects that I’m digging to help whet your appetite for more.

  • Did you know that you can get Kid Giddy Doll Making Dies for your Sizzix machines? Well you can and if you get them you can make these amazing dolls and customise them to your heart’s content. Kerry (of Kid Giddy) has provided this great tutorial on how to make a bubble dress for your Sizzix dolls and I’m totally making one (for me!). Click here to learn how.
  • Love doing English Paper Piecing (EPP) projects but are tired of spending money on purchasing papers? You can now make your own because Sizzix have hexagon shaped dies. Which means you can get a die to make the papers and a die to cut the fabric (because the fabric needs to be bigger than the papers remember!). Click here to see a great post on how to do EPP with Sizzix.
  • The dies also work fabulously for those of us that love to Fussy Cut. Don’t believe me? Kitty (of Night Quilter) put together a fabulous tutorial to show you just how to do it. Click here to read more.
  • I love that you can use the picture style dies for both paper craft and appliquรฉ. Thisย fabulous foxy cushion is just one of the many possible projects you could make. (Imagine a baby quilt with this fox, or kids clothing, or added to store purchase items – you can do so much!) Click here to get the tutorial.

If you make something with Sizzix be sure to use the hashtag #mysizzixhome when you share it on social media. (Just by using the hashtag your project could end up on the Sizzix website, click here to find out more!)
