Tula Pink’s “The Butterfly Quilt” has been on a lot of people’s hit list since it’s release in 2013, so when Chelsea of Pink Door Fabrics asked me if I’d work with her to host this event I didn’t hesitate.  This quilt can look intimidating at first, but it’s actually made up of a lot of simple blocks (if you’ve participated in the #100Days100Blocks events you’ll already have the skills you need for most of the blocks) with a couple of circle blocks (which I’m assured are easy too!). This event will be run on Instagram and you’ll be required to post at least one photo a week showing the specific block type that we’re making for that week. (Similar to how the Long Time Gone event was run.) However, unlike the Long Time Gone event we will not be providing comprehensive tutorials on how to make the blocks (until we get to the circles). The blocks are so simple, the pattern so well written and you guys so skilled that we don’t need to hold your hand for this one. So, want to know the details?

HOSTS

I met Nicole 3 years ago when we both competed in Sewvivor. Nicole went on to win the event and my heart. We’d never met until we shared a room together at Quilt Market 2016. I had such a great time with Nicole and it was at Quilt Market that we hatched the plan to do our first sew-along together. I’m really excited for you to get to know Nicole (if you haven’t already), she’s super crazy talented.

Both Nicole and I have partnered with Pink Door Fabrics to make our quilts using custom bundles that we’ve curated.
