I am so excited to be sewing along with someone else for a change – it’s brilliant! I am so grateful for the amount of effort that Kendall has put in to making sure everyone is supported and the information is accessible to help you make the blocks with whatever construction method you’d like from Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP), Accuquilt or From Marti Michell Perfect Patchwork Templates.

I’ve had an idea for using stripes in my blocks for awhile now and this seemed like the perfect time to get it done. I’ve also had an idea for a new technique for seamlessly matching fabric across seams. The technique allows for you to get an uninterrupted view of a fabric motif despite the seams. Once I’ve got it down I’ll share how I do it. As first attempts go, I’m pretty stoked with how this one turned out.
I’m using all Tula Pink and I’m planning on doing a colour wash on it. The blocks are set on-point so it’s an added degree of difficulty to the cutting; need to keep the 45% angle in mind when I cut my fabrics!
If you have the pattern, I’d recommend getting a start on the border blocks now and do a few each week so that you don’t have a mountain of them at the end. It’s advice that I need to take myself as I’m shocking when it comes to finishing if there’s a detailed border!

This 12 block sampler with decorative border comes with all the instructions, including Foundation Paper Piece (FPP) templates, Accuquilt conversion information and paper templates, for making this with From Marti Michell Templates. Pattern includes instructions for making the quilt in two colourways: rainbow and set palette.

Starting 11 April all pattern purchases will be sent the block Foundation Paper Pieced templates as part of the pattern. This means you can sewalong using either the templates or Foundation Paper Piecing.
