Panda-monium Quilt-along

Pandy Warhol - Patchwork top made by Angie Wilson of GnomeAngel.com. Pattern done using 4 of the Fat Quarter Shop's Pada-Monium Mini Quilt Patterns.

Inspired by Andy Warhol’s work with Marilyn Monroe I decided to give the Fat Quarter Shop’s Panda-Monium Mini Quilt pattern a bit of a modern art treatment. I’m a huge fan of Robert Kaufman’s Kona Cottons and so this was the perfect excuse I needed to get in there and have come fun with colour and repetition.

Fat Quarter Shop’s version was so lovely and perfect that I just felt I couldn’t do it justice by doing the same thing, so I decided to go bold. I took my palette from Andy Warhol’s Marilyn’s.

I wasn’t sure it would work, but I decided to just cut all the fabric in one hit and then chain piece it all together and hope for the best.

I was so excited and thrilled when the final seam was done at I could see it all together. I couldn’t help myself and had to call it Pandy Warhol. It’s currently still in a patchwork top form because I’m trying to decide whether to leave it as the 2 x 2 or do more and make it a 5 x 5 grid. Could you imagine!!!
