Michael Miller Sew Fruity Quilt Reveal

Michael Miller Fabrics have released a new collection perfect for summer called “Sew Fruity“. I am obsessed with the Fruit Toss print in this collection and I’m looking forward to sharing what I made with that print later on. In the meantime, I’m so pleased to share with you today my newest quilt pattern: Ripples.

If you’ve been around these parts for awhile you might recognise this block. It’s the block I designed for an online quilting bee back in 2015. When I originally designed it I made it 12″ x 12″ using only half square triangles.

I’ve updated the design and the pattern now contains:

• 2 block sizes: 12″ x 12″ and 24″ x 24″
• 2 ways to make the block: all half square triangles or a mix of half square triangles and flying geese
• 4 quilt layout options: Baby (48″ x 48″), Throw (48″ x 72″), Twin (72″ x 96″) and King (96″ x 96″)
• Instructions for making it with the trim to size method OR with the From Marti Michell Perfect Patchwork Templates and Rulers. (You’ll need Template Set B and the 8.5″ Squaring Up Ruler.)
• BONUS: If you’d rather Foundation Paper Piece the blocks there’s a separate pattern for the 12″ x 12″ block as a foundation paper piece pattern.

This quilt was pieced by Barbara and custom quilted by Raylee of Sunflower Stitcheries & Quilting. I love the progression of colour in this version of the quilt. These summer colours really pop which is such a lovely thing when it comes to brightening up a room.

Raylee’s done such an amazing job on the quilting. It’s a simple repeat but it plays so nicely with the block design. The texture is sublime.

I love the detail in the binding that comes with using this fun watermelon print from the collection. It’s a great play on a striped binding without being too rigid and formal.

And how cute does my Binding Baby look all wrapped in watermelon!
