Block 7 of Fat Quarter Shop Snapshots Quilt-along

It’s time to reveal another block in the Fat Quarter Shop’s Snapshot Quilt-along and today is Block 7 “Up, Up and Away” (you can get the pattern by clicking here). I had so much fun making this block, which is funny cause I’d been dreading it because of the flying geese blocks but they came together so easily I don’t know why I was worried.

I also found myself wishing I’d been smart enough to do the balloon in the same colours as Charlie Browns shirt, but alas those colours are kind of missing from the Kona 2014 New Colours Fat Quarter Bundle I’m using to make this quilt top.

I’m over half way through the quilt top now and I have to confess I’m getting a little bit excited about seeing them all come together and it’s all I can do not to skip forward and making the punch buggy that sucked me into making this quilt in the first place.

I really want to give you a shot of all the blocks revealed so far as a teaser for the final reveal but there’s no way to do it that doesn’t give everything away so you’re just going to have to take my word for it – it looks awesome!

DETAILS

For all of 2015 Fat Quarter Shop will be revealing a block a month of the Snapshots Quilt which was designed by the legendary Mother-Daughter duo Bonnie & Camille. The quilt is made up of 12 novelty blocks that capture and celebrate moments of happiness in our lives and is called “Snapshots”. Fat Quarter Shop are asking people to donate US$5 for each block that they download the pattern for with all money benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. (A fabulous cause!)
