Link Love: Little by Little Progress

Today I’ve woken with that soreness that comes from working in the yard and I’m loving it. I made the decision in December that I’m going to become the gardener that I always dream of. Well, I don’t specifically dream of being a gardener, but I dream of having a nice garden so unless I win lotto I can’t have one without being the other.

We’ve let our yard go in the past 12 months and it really bugs me. Every time I drive up to our house I’m bummed by how horrible the yard looks. Well, no more. I’ve made the decision we’re going to slowly fix our home this year. We’re going to do the yard work, the maintenance and the weekly chores.

There’s no excuse now. I’m pain free and I’m not stuck in a cycle of productivity and then illness. So yesterday we started on the front yard and it’s made such a difference. It’s not the yard of my dreams, but it’s tidy and (somewhat) weed free. We still have work to do, but we’ve made a start.

It’s something that I’m going to carry with me all year. Little by little things will get done and I will learn to be patient and enjoy slow progress. Now, I’m off to have a hot shower and soak my bones. Wishing you a week filled with love, laughter and much fabric fondling!
