Link Love: Welcome to October

Ok, I know I say it every month but this month really snuck up on me. I feel like it’s been so far off in the distance for so long and then I turned my back and bam! here it is. This is the month I head to Houston for Quilt Market. I’m not going to apologise, but I am going to give you warning the next four weeks are basically going to be filled with me oscillating between being poop-in-my-pants scared and can’t-sit-still excited. I have a long list of things I need to pack, purchase and make between now and October 27 and I’m about 48% convinced I’m going to get it all done in time.

I also need to start putting some serious investigation into things I can do in the 12 minutes I have to myself while I’m in Houston. I have 2 things high on my to-do list; donuts and pie. (Never let it be said that I’m not a simple girl with simple pleasures.) Not too much past those two things are fabric and enamel pins. I also wouldn’t mind checking out some stationery finds while I’m there. My shopping list is long, my bank balance is short. I still really haven’t thought much about the fact that this month I’ll be on a completely different continent to the boys I love and cherish so much. I think I’m going to spend half my flight there crying. So let’s not think much about that and get back to thinking about pie. I did find a place called House of Pies that looks like it might be the place to go for me to get a slice of American pie. Then there’s this list of donut places. I think I just had a heart attack looking at pies and donuts, what’s it going to be like when I look up BBQ options?

Now I’m hungry and it’s not even midday yet. Time to get moving and back to the fabric fondling. Wishing you a most fabulously creative day and if you need me I’ll be at my sewing machine trying not to think about pie.
