Link Love: Waving Not Drowning

So, it turns out the internet going to NBN took a little bit longer and cost a little bit more than we thought it would! Gotta love technology! Thankfully we’re back on line and I’m slowly working my way through all the stuff that backed up while school holidays was happening and then the lack of internet. 

I’ve been squeezing in some holiday research in-between emails, pattern writing and sewing. I’m trying to work out our activity list while we’re in Houston. So far I’ve got Space Centre Houston, Houston Museum of Natural Science, Texas Boot Company (our son wants to dress like Young Sheldon… don’t ask!) and House of Pies. I’ve also been looking for a Reformed Church in the area for Sunday and I think I’ve found one, so that’s good. 

I would love to know if you have any recommendations, must-do’s, avoids and local insight. Our son’s eating wish list consists of 2 things: donuts and pizza. So if you know of some good places for either of those I’d be grateful. Hubby is methodically working his way through Ugly Delicious, Parts Unknown, No Reservations and any other foodie show that he can get his hands on and curating a list of places he wants to eat. (Keeps muttering something about BBQ and Viet-cajun…)

We’ve got just under a week in Houston and I’ll be working for 4 of those days so the boys are looking for things they can do without me. We’re staying next to the Convention Centre so I’m guessing that’s pretty central. This will be my 3rd visit to Houston but my first real time spending time in the city and trying to do the tourist thing. I’m really excited about having a holiday with the boys and going on this great big adventure together. It’s going to be hard to focus on work when I know they’re there.

Anyways, that’s what’s filling my thoughts at the moment. Well, that and the 5 Points of Calvinism… who knew there was so much to learn! I hope you’re having a great week filled with love, laughter and much fabric fondling!
