Link Love: A Camper's Life for Me

With 3 weeks out of the office on our family (working) vacation and then hosting our first ever Camp Sewcial, I confess I’m struggling to get back into the swing of work. I’ve got a million ideas swirling around my head and there’s so much to mentally unpack from our time away. We had a brilliant time away and I’ll write more about it and share more photos for those that are interested – I just have to get through Mount Washmore first. (Who knew 3 weeks out of the home would equal so much laundry!)

Camp Sewcial was AH-MAZE-BALLS! I had such a great time and met some of the most wonderful women. We’ve already confirmed the dates for our next one: April 24-27, 2020. I’ll be sharing more details about it and how you can secure your place. I’m also working on a calendar of teaching in 2020. I want to get out of the office and get hands on. I’ll be teaching beginners patchwork and quilting, as well as some Marti Michell specific classes. It’s an exciting time!

I’m also putting the finishing touches on some big event announcements for 2020. #100Days100Blocks2020 will kick off 1 July using the Kinship: 100 Block Fusion Sampler. I’ve also got a new 100 block pattern coming which will have it’s own event and then there’s the 9 Patch Parade with Marti Michell which I’ll be telling you all about in the next email.

With so much to do and so very little time it’s time I got back to the grindstone. Wishing you a a fabulous week filled with love, laughter and much fabric fondling!

In Issue 31, we MEET (Darling) Di Jobbins, an accomplished quilter widely known in the Australian modern quilting scene, who tells us about her quilting journey which began with designing quilts for the clergy wives of Sydney to stitch together almost 40 years ago; the incredibly talented designer Jennifer Sampou who gives us sage advice for new quilters and for quilters who want to design quilts, and explains how she connects her passion for the environment with her love for quilting; and Gracey Larson who turned her quilting hobby into a multi-faceted business, Burlap and Blossom Patterns.
