For my birthday and Mother’s Day the lads in my life decided (with some prompting) to spoil me with a quilting class.  I actually enrolled in it near the beginning of the year after Michelle (of Buttontree Lane) and I were in Addicted to Fabric and we both fell in love with the quilt (pictured above) and decided to do the class.

I’m so excited to be doing this course.  I hadn’t realised just how excited about it I am until I realised that it’s going to be tomorrow. I haven’t done a quilt course since I did my beginners quilting course with Wendy Scalier in 2011.

(Man, that seems like only last year, but when you think I fell pregnant with Little Man while doing that course it seems like eons ago. Here’s hoping I don’t get knocked up in this course!)

The minute I enrolled in this course I knew what fabrics I was going to use… Tula Pink’s Salt Water!

I’ve actually ordered a half yard of every fabric in each of the colour ways. It’s mental! It’s the first time I’ve even bought a whole collection. (Actually think it’s the first time I’ve intentional bought more than 1 print from any line!)

I’m so nervous and excited to see whether this quilt will work out the way I have it pictured in my head.  I’ve never done an entire quilt from one designers fabric, but I just love Tula Pink’s fabrics so much and Salt Water just seems to bring me so much happiness when I see it so it seemed like the thing to do.

Like I said, I have no idea whether this will work out the way I hope it will but I’m so ready for the adventure.  I can’t wait.

This quilt is a gift – the class was a Mother’s Day/Birthday gift, the fabrics were purchased via Christmas money and the quilting is going to be paid for out of birthday money.  (I’m sure there’s a quilt name in there somewhere…)
