#BROTHERINSPIRES PINCUSHION AND THREAD CATCHER TUTORIAL

Brother Australia are currently hoping to inspire crafters and makers all over Australia through the #BrotherInspires campaign to help make their creative spaces a reflection of who they are. Brother Australia asked me if I would like to make a project for their campaign that people can make and then use in their creative spaces and I jumped at the chance. I put my thinking cap on and came up with my version of a pincushion, thread catcher and tool organiser all-in-one.
I’m forever looking for my scissors when I’m working and this all-in-one makes it so easy to keep them organised and in a handy position. It’s also a great little item to take with you when you’re working on the couch or even out of the home at a sewing day or class.
I also love the fact that it works as a handy little caddy on your ironing board. If you’re like me your forever running between the ironing board and the sewing table looking for scissors to trim threads while you’re ironing (especially when you’re doing the final pass on a finished quilt top).
I designed this all-in-one to be weighted through the use of a common household tile and it makes such a difference. The tile is in it’s own little pocket under the pincushion and can be removed if you wanted to make one as a gift and send it through the post. Both the pincushion and the thread catcher are attached to the organiser with metallic clasps which means they can change positions on the organiser or you can remove them and use them individually.
