CREATIVE SPACE | NANA’S QUILT
…the quilt label – it’s our pet names for each other…
The quilt I made for my Nana is done and winging it’s way to sunny North Queensland. I picked it up from on Altogether Quilting Monday. Once again Helen has out done herself and taken something that I wasn’t exactly thrilled with and turned into something I adore.
…the front of the quilt (forgive the ironing board legs)…
I don’t know what it is but a finished patchwork never seems to hold the same level of magic for me that a finished quilt does. I’m so over the moon with how this quilt has turned out. (I just wish I could take a picture that does it justice!)
…closer look at the detail on the front of the quilt…
I spent an hour with Helen looking over photos of other quilts that she’s done over the years when I went to pick up my quilt and it’s inspired me to enroll in a quilt class with Addicted to Fabric. I did a class a few years back and wasn’t really happy with what I learned or the style of the class, but I’ve heard great things about this class so I’m quietly confident that I might just pick up some more skills.
I guess it’s time now to make a quilt that’s going to stay in this house. I’ve made two and both of them live in different places. I just wish the t-shirt quilt that I’ve started wasn’t so painful! (hee hee hee)

Stunning! Love the quilting result. The quilting pattern is lovely!
it looks just beautiful – i am also thinking i might do a class, but i am not really a classy’ kind of girl…
it looks amazing!!!
Oh wow! It’s great! I agree, it never seems quite finished until it’s quilted. I can never take decent photos of my quilts so I’ve just about given up!
