Crossroads Quilt-along: Friendship Block Revealed

Fat Quarter Shop Crossroads Quilt-along: See my version of the Crossraods Quilt at www.GnomeAngel.com

The third block pattern in the Fat Quarter Shop Crossroad’s Quilt-along benefiting March of Dimes has been released and it’s the Friendship Block. This block is one of the first blocks I fell in love with when I got up close and personal with the full picture of the Crossroads Quilt. I love how the flying geese give the block movement and interest. I had a lot of fun fussy cutting to fit the pattern and I’m really enjoying digging in to my stash of white based prints.

With a few of the blocks under my belt now I’m really starting to get a sense of how the quilt will come together and while these blocks don’t look like much on their own when they’re placed beside their counterparts they’re really starting to pop. As they say in Ocean’s Eleven, “this is a long con”. The full impact of what craziness I’m up to won’t be revealed until the final blocks. In the meantime, if you’d like to make some blocks of your own the links to the free patterns and other amazing bloggers on this journey can be found below.
