Link Love: Making Memories + Lego
It’s been an easy week of much sitting on the couch and pottering around the house as the boy and I spend the school holidays together. We got confirmation this week that he’s fracture his elbow. It means 3 months in a sling 24/7 to help the bone heal. It’s not that big a deal, but it means he’s not allowed to rough house or do anything that puts his arm at risk of being hurt again. He’s bummed because he loves playing on the playground equipment and that’s out-of-bounds now. But we’re making the most of it by spending time doing things we both love. (I’m especially grateful as it’s meant we haven’t been out-and-about in the heatwave that Australia is currently stuck in!)
We also had another milestone this week with him losing his first tooth. It’s been wobbly for months and it’s just been grossing me out and then boom! He’s eating a sandwich and suddenly his tooth is gone. There’s been much joking about how the tooth fairy will collect the tooth and whether he can get an IOU for it so he’ll still get his tooth money.
My week has not been so productive on the work front. I’m trying to squeeze things in around being present for him, but it’s not going well. I’m consoling myself with the fact that we’re making memories which is way more important then working. Right, better get going, it’s Australia Day public holiday here today and we’ve got a skip to fill with garden clippings before it gets too hot! - Eastwood Patchwork Quilters Exhibition will be held on the first weekend in May, 2nd to 5th May 2019 at Brush Farm House Lawson Street Eastwood, 10.00am to 4.00pm each day. An amazing range of quilts will be on exhibition, together with a well-stocked handicraft stall. The marquee will provide covered comfort for the delicious morning and afternoon teas from the café. There will be various vendors on site with the latest quilting supplies.
