Miss Lizzy’s Sampler Block of the Month 2019

A Year with Miss Lizzy is my first solo Block of the Month Series and I’m so excited to share it with you today. I had the idea of a sampler in two styles back at the end of 2017 but it’s not been until now that I could make the dream a reality. I’ve designed 2 samplers, a traditional and a contemporary, based on 12 of my favourite beginner friendly traditional patchwork blocks. Traditional patchwork is where my heart lies and I’m obsessed with samplers, so I wanted to share my love and obsession with you to help make 2019 a fabulous year.

A Year with Miss Lizzy is made up of 2 Samplers :

Each sampler uses the same blocks, just in 2 different sizes and with a different setting to complete the quilt tops. A Year with Miss Lizzy gives you the opportunity to sew at your pace; if you’ve got the time you can make 48 blocks in a year (that’s 4 a month) or if you’re time poor but love to sew you can make 12 blocks in a year (that’s 1 a mont). I’ve put together a series of exclusive tutorials which you can only access as part of the pattern purchase to help you make your blocks, learn new skills and have even more fun.

I decided to make it a Block of the Month series because I wanted to share a fabulous year with you making and creating. To help with this each month you’ll be getting an exclusive free digital product to help you record your year in words as well as stitches. At the end of 2019 you’ll be able to look back at the year you’ve had and see how far you’ve come. If you want to sew-along with a community I’ll also be hosting a sew-along for the samplers in 2019, kicking off 1 January. Miss Lizzy’s Garden Sampler is my nod to the traditional of patchwork samplers. Consisting of 12 9″ Blocks, plus a Bonus Block, this sampler will take you for a wander through a garden of some of my favourite traditional patchwork blocks.

I’ve thought long and hard about releasing a full shot of the quilts or the individual blocks, but I’ve decided to reward those of you that want to go on an adventure with me before you get to know where we’ll be going (or in this case what we’ll be making). For the rest of 2018 I’m keeping the quilts a surprise and the price at $30 per pattern (or $50 for both), however come midnight New Year’s Eve I’ll be releasing the quilts into the wild and raising the pattern price to $36 per pattern (or $60 for both). I’ll also be adding a little bonus into the mix for those that sign up before 31 December 2018 to help you with getting your supplies together. So, what are you waiting for? I’m currently at the hospital with our son who’s had emergency surgery, so I may be a little slower then normal on replies.   2. Hi Angie, 14.25 yards seems like an awful lot of background fabric for Miss Lizzy’s Garden. Is this correct?
