1. How did you come to be a blogger?

I started blogging in late 2009 for my (then) handmade business. Over the next year I stalled and started a few times before starting a personal blog in September of 2010 and I blogged there for 3 years and started Style for a Happy Home in June, 2013. I realised quickly that SFAHH was where I wanted to blog and I let the personal blog go in December 2013. I learnt a lot about blogging before I started my SFAHH and it really helped me to get clear about what I wanted it to be about.

2. What is it that you love about being a blogger?

I love how I get to share my personality with the world. It gives me a wonderful creative outlet that lets me write when I have something to say and also lets me get crafty as often as possible. I didn’t realise how much I needed that creative time until I started doing it.

3. What made you want to focus on Pinterest as a way of interacting with your community?

Because Pinterest is so visual, it made it really easy for me to share things I loved with like minded people. I didn’t start out looking for people to follow me, I just wanted to focus on sharing pretty things that I found and people seemed to really love what I was sharing. When you look at my Pinterest account, it’s really easy to see what I’m interested in and that helped me shape the direction for my blog too.

  1. I enjoyed this interview. And bonus! I went to your Pinterest page from a link in your interview and nearly died over your “Cute” board. I had to re-pin a bunch onto my own because they were so adorable.

    1. Me too Christine – pinterest and google+ – I’ve read Dannielle’s book and I found it really handy, I’d love to read the second edition and see what she’s learned since starting. πŸ™‚

  2. Great interview Angie! I’m definitely trying to make my house more a home by decorating and getting rid of clutter (or at least getting better at ORGANIZING said clutter better). Will definitely be checking out Dannielle’s site for inspiration!

    1. Thanks Brandy. I really enjoy Dannielle’s style – it’s down to earth and focused on improving your life without getting trapped in the consumer cycle. I really hope you enjoy reading her blog. πŸ™‚
