What’s in the box? August’s #SewSampler

I have a confession, when I got my first Sew Sampler box I was a little skeptical. You see, I’ve been sewing for awhile and I sew as part of my job so I have a lot (a lot!) of “stuff” and I wasn’t convinced that the Sew Sampler from Fat Quarter Shop would provide any value for me… but the Team at Fat Quarter Shop have taken that challenge and risen to it each month. I have to say, I’m a little bit impressed by their knack for pulling together a box of treats that has something in it for everyone.
This month a certain inclusion had me doing a little happy dance when I saw it, want to find out what it was?
This month’s Sew Sampler contains the following:
- Sundrops Jolly Bar – Corey Yoder for Moda Fabrics: Contains 42 – 5″ x 10″ cuts of fabric, 100% Cotton
- The Jolly Bar Book – Fat Quarter Shop: The Jolly Bar Book Vol. 1 includes the first 20 patterns published for our exclusive precut, the Jolly Bar. This book compiles them all in one place for the first time ever. Grab a Jolly Bar, pick any design and enjoy! If you’d like to win a copy of this book be sure to come back tomorrow!
- Quilters Perfect Stick Klips – KLIPit: These Klips are the perfect way to hang your quilts! This damage-free hanging tool comes with 5 clips and 6 pieces of stick tape to help decorate and organize your space! Stick Klips will hold approximately 5-6 pounds!
- The Binding Tool – The Quilters Mercantile: Check out Fat Quarter Shop’s free binding YouTube video where this product is featured here.
- Bobbin Nest – Ever Sewn
- BONUS! Pixeled Fat Quarter Shop Tin – Fat Quarter Shop
You’ll also find a quilt block recipe pattern in your box for 8″, 12″ and 16″ blocks. This month Fat Quarter Shop have featured Bella Solids Lemon!

I had been eyeing the Fat Quarter Shop Tin’s off on their Instagram feed since they announced them (I’m a sucker for a good tin) and so when it came in my Sew Sampler Box I was *so* excited. I am really impressed with the quality of the tin (it’s going to take a lot of knocks and still look good), the quality of the pattern and colour (it’s not going to flake off any time soon like some tins I’ve been using) and just how much “stuff” it will hold. I’ve already added it to my hand stitching kit.
It’s not too late to join the Sew Sampler experience. Find out more about how to get a little slice of Fat Quarter Shop heaven in your mail box each month by clicking here.
