The clever team at Fat Quarter Shop are at it again, this time with a compilation of patterns that work perfectly with their custom pre-cut the Jolly Bar. (Is it just me or does this sound like the name of a Pub that Santa would own?) If you’ve not seen them before a Jolly Bar is exclusive to Fat Quarter Shop and is a pre-cut of Moda fabric that measures 5″ x 10″ – the perfect size to give you a big punch of print and colour and help you make quilts super fast. Each Jolly Bar comes with an exclusive pattern to help you make something fabulous and to get your creative juices flowing.

If that’s not enough now you can also pick up a copy of The Jolly Bar Book Vol. 1 to help you get even more value and diversity from your Jolly Bars. To help you see just how amazing the patterns are Fat Quarter Shop have teamed up with a bunch of amazing bloggers to share their makes from The Jolly Bar Book Vol. 1 – and they’re fabulous.

Unfortunately I’ve not had time to make anything, which is sad for me but good news for you because… you can win my copy of The Jolly Bar Book Vol. 1! Want to know how?

  8. I really like Paper Hearts that The Stitching Scientist made. I am looking for quick and cute baby quilts and I think that is just about perfect in all kinds of different fabrics.

  10. I love Andy at ‘A bright Corner’s’ Version of the ‘Tree Lined street quilt’. I think it was the pieced border that drew me in as well. I like her choice of the ‘Varsity’ Jolly bar by Sweetwater for Moda. I would also like to do a version in Gooseberry Jolly bar so I could have one for my daughter as well as my son. And maybe the ‘Handmade’ jolly bar for me.

  11. I like the simplicity of Jedi Craft girl’s quilt. Her selection of farm house Jolly Bar makes it really sweet and relaxing. Just imagine the evening sun on the verandah with a little glass of something you like. Cool breeze so you cover your knees with this quilt, what a way to get the mojo flowing for writing and quilting.

  17. Hi Angie, My favorite quilt is Rasberry Sorbet by Melissa Cory and the fabric Jolly Bar that I love is Brighten up! It would certainly bright me up as I am currently not permitted to doing any craft work and quilting due to damaging two tendons in my left hand. currently wearing a splint for the next 8 weeks. With the hope it will not require any surgical intervention. Hence why I need brightening up! Thanks for the fantastic opportunity to win a prize for when I am permitted to quilt again.

  21. I love the regiment quilt by Heidi from buttons and butterflies. I would use a juniper berry jolly bar. I just love the “order” that the quilt shows off.

  23. My quilt choice would be the Picket Fences Quilt so I could show off the beautiful fabrics of the Farmhouse Jolly Bar by Fig Tree Quilts for Moda. It just reminds me of growing up on a farm outside Canberra. Happy memories.

  27. oh, what a wonderful book! Thank you for the chance to win. I think I like multiple patterns, but I was mostly intrigued by the simplicity of the Regiment Quilt of Buttons and Butterflies. So I guess that would be my first pick :).

  28. Wow, what a difficult choice. So many fabulous Jolly Bar quilts and beautiful fabrics. I finally decided on the Tree Lined Street which Andy from A Bright Corner made. I liked this quilt a lot because it showcases the fabrics so well and the little squares in the border are a neat finish. The fabric range I’d use is The Treehouse Club by Sweetwater because I’d make the quilt for my granddaughters who love the Andy Griffiths Treehouse books.

    I would make “picket fences” with Farmhouse by Figtree and co, what’s not to love about that range of fabric?

    My choice of pattern would be Tree Lined Street.

  36. Wow what a fun book. I would love to make the ” picket fences quilt” using the farm house fabric for my new grandaughter ‘Matilda’
    Matilda lives in Boston USA & I live in Canberra Au, this quilt says ‘country farmhouse’ just the things her grandma from Auz loves.

  39. I like both Sundrops and Little Ruby. Oh the choices! ……Sundrops would be my first pick. Tree Lined Street would be the right pattern to show off Sundrops.

  42. I love the Autumn Stars pattern (Afton from Quilting Mod blog). I like how it uses triangles in a solid fabric that really makes the stars pop!

  43. I really like Seas the Day. I’m in love with all things Zen Chic, so modern Backgrounds Luster is my fave. (Brighten Up comes in a close second since I can picture it in my daughter’s room!)

  46. Picket Fence and Paper Hearts are the two I love and basic mixology is the jolly bar of choice.

    At Fat Quarter Shop I spied the Basic mixologie jolly bar, which has gone straight to the top of my shopping list.

  49. Well, I found it hard to choose from all the cute quilts. So it would be toss up between The Regiment Quilt, The Paper Hearts and The Autumn Star. Not necessarily in that order. I would love to use a Strawberry Fields Revisited Jolly Bar. Thanks!

  57. I would like to make Bird’s Eye View Quilt. I like the clean lines and shapes. I also like the fact that she made it with the Brighten Up! Jolly Bar which is what I would do or I might use the Windermere Jolly Bar.

  64. Thank you for the giveaway. I love the pattern Jolly Bar Paper Hearts Quilt. I was going to make one that was similar for the Orlando victims but I made another instead. I think it would be really cute to use the Fresh Crush Jolly Bar by Sweetwater for Moda Fabrics.

  67. Paper Hearts is my favorite quilt from this book. It’s so happy. Just perfect for the little girl down the street. I would make it out of dog fabrics. She loves dogs!

  68. The quilt I liked the best was by A Bright Corner. I loved the clean look, balanced layout and especially liked how the border was pieced with the “left over” fabric. I would make this quilt with the Bonnie and Camille fabric, love the colors in it!

  89. I would love to make the “paper hearts”, shown by Remona @ The Stitching Scientist. My son is getting married next week, and everything in my life these days seems to be hearts and flowers. That’s why I fell in love with “Little Ruby” by Bonnie and Camille as the Jolly Bar I would use.
    By the way, is the drawing really open until 2017? ; )

  91. A Bright Corner really puts the Jolly Bars to good use for a quick bright quilt.
    I’d love to try the Basic Mixology Jolly Bars in a similar pattern.
