Link Love: A Mixed Bag of Awesome

It’s been a fun week in our house. The routine is returning and we’re doing some more adventuring out and about (which is code for we’re going to Miss Van’s a lot to eat good Pho!). We’ve also spent a couple of days in the last month roaming the National Zoo & Aquarium. They’ve been doing additions to the zoo and you can now see some of the new enclosures and more of the animals. It’s really lovely and a great place to let the toddler run off his endless supply of energy. (I wish I had half his boundless energy!) If you’d like to see more great things to do in Canberra be sure to follow Rosemarie and Joseph at Tavel & Beyond on Instagram (click here to follow).
I’ve been quietly chipping away at the big projects I have happening in the background and I’m looking forward to being able to start sharing some of them with you. (The first block pattern for the Fat Quarter Shop Crossroads quilt-along is released in the next 24 hours!) When I first started sewing the only thing I used to have in my sewing space for “entertainment” was my iPod and docking station. I love going into my room and blasting music, singing and dancing and just having fun. However, now that I spend so much time in there I’ve done something I never thought I would do… I’ve got a television in there.
I didn’t ever want to put on in there (we’re a 1 t.v. house and I quite like that) but I’ve found it so hard to stay focused and enjoy the time in there that I knew I needed to do something. I’ve got to say… I’m loving it! Time just flies and I’m catching up on all the shows I’ve missed in the past 3 years, it’s brilliant! I don’t actually spend much time “watching” but I’m enjoying the listening and the occasional look up to see what’s happening.
Don’t forget I’ve got some scrap packs (all well over a Fat Quarter’s worth of fabrics) and some Scrap Charm packs available in the shop at the moment. You can find them by clicking here. I’m going to be adding more to it as I go through and destash more of the craziness that is my sewing room so be sure to keep an eye on it. If you’re looking for another reason to add some scrap goodness to your world then use coupon 20HEARTS to save 20% when you spend $20 or more in the shop. (That’s just 2 scrap packs!)
The little man and I are off on an adventure today and I better make sure Iโve done all my chores before we go, so I’d better love you and leave you. Hope you have an amazing day!
