Link Love: A Cautionary Tale & Explanation

A highlight reel of what's going on in my life and a collection of useful links and information for the creatives amongst us - Angie Wilson at www.gnomeangel.com

If an army marches on it’s feet this little gnome marches on her laptop. I have been without a fully functional computer since Tuesday last week and it’s put a massive spanner in the works. Intellectually I knew my computer was important, but I didn’t really understand just how important until this week. It’s happened at the worst time as well with a massive deadline and document to review on top of all the other commitments I have. But I can’t complain I was fortunate enough to be able to replace it on Friday afternoon and then have HUBBY spend all day Saturday trying to get it up and running.

Even with all that good fortune I’m a further week behind on everything and I haven’t been able to do any computer based work (like blog, write tutorials, respond to emails, etc.) since Tuesday. I’ve been relying on HUBBY to do what he can for me, but he was away from home all last week and so that wasn’t a lot. It’s meant a few things that you probably need to be aware of:

  • My Marti Michell Mini Quilt Tutorial which was supposed to go live on Friday has now been postponed until this Friday. It means you’re going to get two tutorials on the same day, mine and Tonya’s (from The Crafty Mummy). I’m sorry to those that were looking for it and I hope the wait is worth it.
  • I have over 12,000+ emails in my inbox. In the move to a new laptop for some reason my mail client has put all the emails in my inbox instead of sorted how they were and it’s meant I need to go through and find everything again. I’m really sorry if you’re waiting on an email from me, I’ll be on top of them by the end of the week.
  • If you’ve been wondering where I am on social media – I’ve been rocking back and forth in a corner – I’ll be back this week (I’m guessing Wednesday… *wink*)

That’s it in a nutshell really. This week is going to be all about the scramble to get back on top of things and make my new computer feel like home. I’m really lucky and I don’t think I’ve lost anything (always back up!) and we were fortunate enough to be able to replace it, it’s really just an inconvenience and really (really!) poor timing.

The loss of a computer has also meant a pretty boring week. I didn’t get much sewing done as I was out of the house for most of the week and if I wasn’t I was trying to get my online world back together. But, the coming week is going to be HUGE! With my mini quilt and the #100Days100Blocks event kicking off you’re going to be tired of seeing my handiwork! I can’t wait. *evil laugh*

I hope you have a fabulously creative day!
