DO YOU LOVE FUSSY CUTTING? JOIN THE FUSSY CUTTERS CLUB!

[pullquote width=”300″ float=”left”]What is fussy cutting? It’s when you find a particular design, picture or print in your fabric and then cut around it so it fits into a patch or block on your quilt featuring the special picture or design.[/pullquote]
I’m a fussy cutter! I love finding a great pattern that I can use as part of my English Paper Piecing, fun themed quilt blocks, cute little project or just as a point of interest in a sewing project.
I know I’m not alone in the love of a good fussy cut. There’s so many people out there doing fabulous things with fussy cutting – whether it’s using a pattern to make a new and interesting repeat or whether it’s just having fun and adding smiles to a project.
With so many great fabrics out there and so many fun ways to use them I decided it was time to launch “The Fussy Cutters Club”!
What is it you ask? Well let me explain…
Proclaim your love of Fussy Cutting
Each week, starting next Friday, I’ll be posting a link party where you can share projects you’re working on that have utilized fussy cutting techniques whether this is with paper piecing, patchwork or sewing in general.
If you cut fabric with the intention of highlighting some aspect of the print or design then share it here for all to see.
To help you come out of the closet I’m offering one person who links up to the party the chance to win a 5 piece fussy cutter mystery bundle.
If you really want to sing it loud and proud you can grab the blog button from my sidebar and wear it with pride.
The Fussy Cutter Club on Facebook
If you’re like me you get massive inspiration, encouragement and a thrill from seeing and sharing your work with other like minded people. So to help you get your fix of fussy cutting madness in between linky parties I’ve started a Facebook Group.
You can request membership here: The Fussy Cutters Club on FB
The Fussy Cutter Club on Instagram
I adore Instagram, it’s a great way to get inspired, stay motivated and learn some new tricks. If you’re sharing fussy cutter work on Instagram I’d love for you to use the hashtag #TheFussyCutterClub so we can find your work and share in the joy that is fussy cutting.

Hi Angie, I have purchased Judy’s Dilly Bag ppattern via download to join in with the SAL. I can’t find any mention of the hexie size so just want to check that what I have downloaded & printed is correct. On my printout the hexie measures 2.5 inches diameter from solid line to solid line. Is this correct? Thanks, Tracee
Hi Angie thanks for your reply yesterday and photos of fabric it is so hard to buy online without a colour chart amazing how colours change in photos.
I’ve been sewing hexagons for ages but never fussy cut them are going to continue doing the Fussy cutter club? If so I would like to join.
Love your blog and good luck with sewvivor
Warm regards
Karen Ritchie
Hi Karen – Glad I could help. That fabric is a real mystery colour – both Raylee (the lady who quilted it) and I often marvel about how it looks grey but matches to brown threads.
I am going to continue The Fussy Cutters Club – you can join the FB Group by clicking this link – the posts will start up again when the Sea Breeze Mini Quilt-aLong finishes up this weekend.
Let me know if there’s anything else I can help with. ๐
I’ m definitely in. Looking forward to Friday.
What a great idea! Both the club and the bundles. I’ll be sure to drop by next week and see what everyone has made.
