I’m back, baby! The heinous chest and sinus infection is gone, I can stand for longer than 5 minutes without needing to lay down and I’m kicking goals and taking names. It’s amazing how after a period of illness those first few days of good health make you feel invincible! I’ve gotten so much done in the past week it’s been amazing, shame I still have so much to do. But, the good thing it’s all fun stuff so who’s complaining!

Speaking of fun stuff, this week I have not one but TWO big announcements. I’ve already been hinting at one over on Instagram (click here to see the hint) but the details are going to make a lot of people very excited and hopefully very happy. The other one is going to be a complete surprise, but if you’ve been sewing along for the Farmer’s Wife 1930’s Sampler Quilt Sew-along you should be keen to find out more about it on Friday. It’s going to be a huge week and I’m really excited about it all because it means we’ll be ending the year with a bang.

When I’m not making big announcements this week I’ll be frantically sewing quilts for upcoming exhibitions. I swear, exhibitions are like Christmas; they’re closer than they appear on the calendar. I don’t know how I ended up in this position of having to sew everything the week before they’re due. Actually I do know and just like last year I’ll swear black and blue again this year that it won’t happen again next year. My poor little sewing machine… lucky she’s a work horse!

I’m getting a little excited about the prospect of the weather changing for the warmer. Last week it snowed in Canberra (yep, snowed!) but I’m hopeful for more sunny days ahead. I miss the warm days so much at the moment. Every time we get a day filled with sunshine I open up all the curtains and blinds and try to flood the house with the light. It’s the light I miss the most during winter. I think it might be time for me to move to a warmer climate… I wonder how expensive it would be to build a sewing room on a tropical island! In the meantime I’m off to play with some fabric and listen to Jimmy Buffet in an attempt to imagine myself away to the islands. I hope you have a fabulous day!
