Link Love: Home Smokey Home
I’m home again and it’s wonderful to be back in the studio, fondling fabric and having my little family back together. The kid and I had such a great time being at home with my parents. I hadn’t realised just how much I was missing home and how much I needed some parental wisdom and advice. While the trip was unexpected it was a blessing and I’m very thankful to have been able to go home.
The fires are still burning, but the Lord has sent some precious rain to help ease things. It’s not been enough to end all the fires or the drought, but it’s a start with a forecast of more on the way. Some areas have received so much in a short period of time that there’s been flash flooding. I woke this morning to blue skies. Beautiful crisp blue skies. I have always loved a blue sky, but now I feel like they’ve become even more special. The smoke has cleared and I’m not sure if it’ll be back, but there’s fires still burning around us and the fire season hasn’t ended yet so I’m not ruling it out. At least this time we’ll be more prepared for it.
Today I’m back in the office, the kid is off on a STEM holiday program and we’re all trying to get back into a routine before school starts again in February. I’ll be going through my inbox and trying to work my way through the 300+ emails I got between Christmas and last week. Please be patient with me as I catch up and get this train back on it’s tracks. Wishing you a fabulous week filled with love, laughter and much fabric fondling!

On 1 February 2020 I’ll be kicking off the FMM 9 Patch Parade. Each month we’ll be making a project based on a Marti Michell 9 Patch Pattern (as shown above). The 9 Patch block is super simple, as long as you’re working in a measurement divisible by 3. If you want to make them in any other size you’ll need to work in metric! *wink* Well not any more! With the 9 Patch Rulers from Marti Michell you can now make 9 patch blocks in 7 sizes (2″, 3″, 4″, 4.5″, 5″, 6″ and 8″) all without having to do the math. You can use the rulers to strip piece or fussy cut your blocks. It’s genius! I can’t wait to share with you the projects I’ve been making with these rulers and spend 2020 helping you to sew some super awesome projects! Click here to read all about the event, or click here to purchase the rulers.
