MEET JANELLE WIND

5. What are you most proud of from your quilting experience?

Other than teaching, I am proud that I have been a pattern maker who has made ‘doable’ projects. I can say in all confidence that people are able to understand and complete my projects. I know that money can be very tight, especially for the mum’s out there, so I need to know that my patterns are working for others.

6. What’s the one piece of advice about quilting that all new quilters should know?

Ooh, that’s a hard one. I think one of the most important skills/pieces of advice new quilters could be given is to remember that there are no patchwork police. While I have specific ways of cutting, piecing, pressing etc that I know work, I would never expect others to do things the same as me. Also, accurate cutting and an accurate 1/4 inch seam allowance will be your best friend (and save lots of unpicking)

  1. So lovely to get to know the beautiful Janelle a bit better! She would make one heck of an interior designer… I’ll happily be her guinea pig! She has immaculate taste and sense of style!
