8. What quilting challenges would you like to conquer in the next 12 months?
Often I have to design quilts that I can make quickly to meet deadlines and not really having a moment to enjoy the quilt. In 2015 I would like to publish 2 pattern books with more complex quilts that I can savour every stitch as I make them.
9. What are your 3 favourite quilts that you’ve made that reflect who you are as a quilter?
I would have to say that my three favourite to date are ‘Snowflake’, ‘Rockpools’ and ‘Refractatorium’. Each quilt looks complex on first glance but built on simple piecing or foundation piecing. In these quilts I like to use repetition in the blocks and remove borders. I like the pattern to fall to the edge. I never use white in quilts, as I like to experiment with different colours for backgrounds. Colour and pattern in fabric choices are important and I am not afraid to use it.
10. If you weren’t a quilter, what other creative endeavour would you like to master?
I think it would be fun to make shoes.

Jane was one of the very first quilters I found online when starting to quilt myself, and it was from her that I started my stash – both purchasing a Flurry layer cake (from which my love for Kate Spain only grew and grew!) and from winning a giveaway on her blog. She has always been a huge inspiration and someone I shall forever be grateful for helping me start this most amazing journey!!

Jane is such a lovely, giving person – just as you’ve said. I’m lucky enough to have her living around the corner! I really love her use of colour – she is so brave and pulls off all sorts of colour schemes that I would never think to try. I’m really looking forward to her book collation, which is coming out early next year!
