MEET WOODENSPOON QUILTS

8. What quilting challenges would you like to conquer in the next 12 months?

Hereโ€™re some of the challenges Iโ€™d like to tackle in the next yearโ€ฆ keep working on my FMQ skills, design my own patterns, improve my handwork skills, especially needle turn applique and hand quilting. Iโ€™m doing several workshops next year which should help with this list, a needle turn applique course with Carolyn Friedlander and a paper piecing design class with Penny Layman at Quiltcon, and a hand quilting class with Sarah Fielke at the New Zealand Quilt Symposium in January. Eep!

10. If you werenโ€™t a quilter, what other creative endeavour would you like to master?

I’ve just started my first cross stitch pattern, it’s the Christmas Celebration Sampler by the Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery. I’m still figuring it out, but I’m finding it very relaxing.

    1. Funny how we find someone one way online and then when we find out they have more places where they share their work it’s like hitting a gold mine. I really love Rachel’s work and I was so thrilled to be able to share her creative genius. ๐Ÿ™‚
