MUSHROOM FAN CLUB STACKING POP-UP

Michael Miller Fabrics gave me a wonderful little bundle of fun prints called “The Mushroom Fan Club” which I’ve been excitedly planning what to do with. In 2020 I’m all about using my stash and looking at ways that I can use the skills I’ve been given to leave a smaller impact on the earth. I knew exactly what I was going to do with my mushrooms. I was going to make them pop… up!

The Fat Quarter Gypsy had sent me a set of stacking pop-ups to try out and when I saw the border print, Mushroom Buddies, in The Mushroom Fan Club bundle I had an idea…

They were the perfect heigh for the medium pop-up refill. So I did what I do best and I fussy cut. I used this technique (click the link for the tutorial) to match the two colour ways of the border print. Just quietly, I’m pretty chuffed with the outcome.

I love how the pop-up collapses down so you can store it flat when you’re not using it. I’m also really pleased with how well Hot Spots from The Mushroom Club coordinates with Mushroom Buddies and adds some more fun to this project.

I have the stackable pop-ups in 3 other sizes and I’m already planning how I’m going to use them! I’m looking forward to some more fun with mushrooms and pop-ups when I’m back in my sewing room!
