SPONSORED | FEBFASTING FOR CHRISTMAS
I, like many Australians, come from a family that has been affected by alcoholism. I was lucky enough to have parents that were committed to breaking the cycle, however many Australians still struggle with the impact that alcohol has on their lives.
I’m really proud to be partnering with febfast, an Australian organization committed to raising funds to help vulnerable young Australians tackle serious alcohol and drug problems, to show you how you can enjoy socializing this festive season without the use of alcohol.

febfast encourages people to take a break from alcohol in February – the shortest month of the year. It’s a great time to do it as it follows what, for many of us, is a big few months of office Christmas parties, Christmas events with friends and family and the cherry on the socializing calendar, New Year’s Eve. Not to mention Australia Day! So February is the perfect time to give your body a break from the booze and reflect on your personal goals for the year ahead. (Everyone knows that New Year’s resolutions don’t officially start until February 1, right?)
I was shocked to find out that every single day of the year more than 160 kids seek help from alcohol and drug services in Australia. That’s a heck of a lot of kids. In 2013, febfast are going to (see that positive thinking!) raise over $1 million dollars to help young Australians tackling serious alcohol and drug problems.
Since its inception in 2007, febfast has raised more than $4.5 million to support 40 programs from all corners of Australia and inspired 700,000 drink free days.
You can help febfast achieve their 2013 goal by heading over to febfast and registering. Not only will you be giving your body a well deserved break you’ll also be giving your body a chance to shed some of that festive weight gain, your wallet will have a chance to breath easier and you’ll feel great. Not to mention you’ll be earning major karma points by helping a great organization raise much needed funds to help Australian kids. (And we all know that the children are our future, right?)
Want to know more? You can find febfast all around the internet, here’s some great places to start:
So, how will I be making our Christmas an alcohol free one – well you’ll just have to come back tomorrow to find out.
