Click here to shop Make Modern Magazine.

Started in 2014 as a collaboration of three Aussie quilters passionate about modern quilting, Make Modern is a digital magazine published every two months. Each issue is written by our small team of modern quilters in Australia, and contains 10-14 modern quilt patterns from our team of amazing quilters from all over the globe 10-14 feature articles, including regular columns by quilt math expert Alyce from Blossom Heart Quilts, a quilt business column by Angie from GnomeAngel and a hilarious agony aunt column by Molli Sparkles plus loads more. Where can you buy Make Modern? Subscriptions and single issues are available exclusively from www.makemodern.com.au. Our magazine is digital – meaning you get a PDF copy that you can read on your phone, tablet or computer and print off a copy of a pattern if you wish. Why digital? It’s more accessible, so whether you’re in a neighbouring suburb in Australia, or across the globe in America or Europe, you’ll be able to read our magazine in the comfort of your own home. It’s more sustainable, think of all those happy trees! It takes up NO physical space which means more room for storing fabric. And it’s less expensive, leaving you with more dollars in your pocket to spend on….fabric?! Our goal is to be a driving force in the modern quilt community. We want you to feel like we’re already friends, the kind of friends who totally understand your fabric addiction, who will assist with your quilting problems and who will help you grow as a quilter. We hope you’ll love us even though we’re all a little bit crazy.

The Modern Sewist is so excited to be joining Gnome Angel again this year as a sponsor of the #100Days100Blocks2018 sew-along! For this third and final event, we have loads of fat quarter bundles. Tula Pink and Cotton+Steel bundles plus a super fun collection of ME+YOU and Carolyn Friedlander. (Karis’ choice this year – saturated colors and less need for fussy cutting … BAM).

Perhaps most exciting is our Custom Bundle listing. For maximum flexibility and assistance, you can select 30, 40 or 50 FQs (or the equivalent yardage).  Note your parameters and we’ll expertly put together a completely unique and original bundle … just for you! We’ll even send you a photo of what we’ve pulled before shipping. How is that for personal service?

Also listed are our favorite rulers (Creative Grids 6.5” square – perfect for squaring up all those blocks and the Fussy Cutters Square Up ruler – perfect for … ummmm, fussy cutting). You’ll also need Tula Pink’s City Sampler book to follow along – so make sure to grab that as well.

Last, but certainly not least – we are offering a discount on all of your 100Days goodies. Simply add your coupon code of 100Days18 at checkout to save on any eligible items! The code is good through July 7th. Check back often for more bundles as we receive new fabric. We will ship your order(s) AS SOON as they submitted – no waiting to get yourself organized. And trust us, organization is key. We sure can’t wait to see your blocks. Be sure to tag us in your post on IG @themodernsewist.

P.S. All 100 Days customers will receive a coupon at the end of the event for the purchase of backing, sashing and binding. Have a great 100 days!

Pink Door Fabrics was started in 2011 out of a love for bright, modern fabrics. With a background in interior design and marketing, it’s become the perfect marriage to nurture both my right and left brain! I grew up watching my mom sew, and taught myself to quilt in my 20’s using fabrics by Amy Butler and some of Tula Pink’s first lines. I wish I’d held onto more of that fabric! While I love quilts, I also love making bags and admittedly start way more projects than I actually finish. There just need to be a few more hours in the day to be creative! I’m as obsessed with texture and fabric as you are (yes, I hoard fabric, too!) and I hope that our custom-curated selection provides the perfect palette for your next quilting or sewing project. We tend towards the more modern in terms of aesthetic here at Pink Door, and love to put together custom quilt and bag kits that take the guess work out of choosing fabrics online. We ship worldwide, and love seeing where our pretty packages are traveling! Thanks for helping make a girl’s fabric dreams come true! We appreciate your business so much.

Prize: Pink Door Fabrics has kindly donated a $150 Gift Certificate.

Two Blue Birdies is an online fabric and haberdashery store based in Melbourne, Australia. Two Blue Birdies was founded in 2012 by Sonya Morris who started the shop as small hobby. From there, the hobby grew in to a business. Two years later, her brother Alex joined Two Blue Birdies to assist with cutting, packing and sending orders.

Two Blue Birdies offers a range of contemporary fabrics from Liberty of London, Robert Kaufman, Ella Blue & Riley Blake just to name a few, catering to a wide range of tastes.

They stock a range of sewing patterns and books from popular Australian designers such as Ric Rac, May Blossom, Sew to Grow and Emma Jean Jansen, as well as overseas designers such as Merchant & Mills, Pen & Paper Patterns and Tula Pink. They’ve got you covered for haberdashery, sewing tools and fabric care too, with everything from ironing sprays like Flatter and Best Press, through to safety eyes, scissors, needles and basting glue.

They also stock quality 100% Wool felt in over 110 colours, which is great for making soft toys, felt flowers or using for applique. Their wool felt is made from Merino wool, which is sourced predominately from Australia and then felted in Europe using natural soap, hot water and friction. The felt that results is of exquisite quality and is soft yet strong. 100% Wool Felt is hard-wearing, pill resistant, naturally stain-resistant and non-flammable, making it perfect for many craft projects.

Two Blue Birdies aims to inspire all levels of creativity and ability, through providing a high quality range supplies and tools.
