Winners for Tula Pink Butterfly Quilt Sew-along

The time has come for the Tula Pink Butterfly Quilt Sew-along to end and the winners to be announced. It’s been a massive 18 weeks and I know I said I’d be revealing my finished butterfly quilt this week I still haven’t gotten in finished. BUT I have gotten the remaining fabrics cut, so I’m one step closer to finishing which is the main thing. There are 3 lucky people that have finished their quilts, have posted all the photos, followed the right accounts and been chosen by the giveaway fairy to win a prize and they are:

  1. Woo hoo! I’m so excited! Thank you so much for organizing this and thank you giveaway fairy for the super awesome prize!

  2. This was a lot of fun to participate in and follow along. Thanks for hosting. I am a little confused on the schedule – I thought that there was a week of fan favorite voting and winners were to be announced on Dec 12? Was the schedule modified?

As a first time participant in one of your sew-a-longs, I am a little bummed about the conclusion. It seemed that the SAL wrapped up with very little fanfare and it was a little anticlimactic. After all the work on the quilt, it would’ve been fun to have more celebration and excitement about the results. Anyway, I still had a good time overall and glad I finally made the quilt. Thanks again for hosting and doing so much work.

      • Hi Susan + Vanessa – I’m sorry for any confusion, I may not have articulated what was happening as clearly as I could have. I was unable to organise any further sponsors for this event and so the ending of the event was changed. I did post the changes in the reveal post, but I possibly didn’t articulate these clearly enough for everyone to understand.

I’m sorry you felt the ending was anti-climatic. I’m open to any ideas or suggestions on how you think an ending to an event could be done with more fanfare. As always, the events are a constant evolution to try and find the balance between providing a free event for people and juggling it with the work I get paid to do – sometimes I get it right and sometimes there’s room for improvement.

Thank you for your feedback, I really do appreciate it. Sometimes it’s hard to know what works and what doesn’t and so any information about this is always greatly appreciated.

  3. Oh wow! Thank you so much. I am thrilled to have finally made this quilt (I’ve owned the pattern for a few years!) and winning a prize is a thrill. Just sent an email through your contact page.
