#100Days100Blocks2018: Blocks 31 – 40 and Winner Announcement

It’s a big one today, not only am I announcing the winner of the group of blocks from 31 – 40 but I’m also announcing the first round of daily prize winners. If you have any questions about how prizes are allocated please check out the Frequently Asked Questions by clicking here.

Every 5 days after a segment of blocks finishes I’ll be announcing the winners for that section. (Have you printed out the free event tracker so you know when the prizes will be announced? Click here to download.) I really wish I could give everyone a prize for participating. The entries are amazing and the quilts being made are each unique and a reflection of the person making them. Winners details are below and so is a round up of my next ten blocks for this years event.

Please note: Winners have 48 hours from 7:30am 20 August (in their timezone) to claim their prize. You must email me to claim your prize. You can either email through the site by clicking here or send me an email at hello[at]gnomeangel.com. Unclaimed prizes may be allocated to another winner at the discretion of the event host. Please do not contact the sponsor directly to claim your prize, doing so will void your winning. Please do not DM on Instagram to claim your prize as I may miss it and you will miss out. I will email all winners back within working hours (that’s 9:30am – 2:30pm Monday to Friday AEST (Sydney Time) – please give me up to 3 working days to respond. For more information about prize allocation please click here.

A word to those of you that are participating and hoping to win a prize – I looked at a lot of accounts this week to find winners as many of the accounts that were drawn to win a prize weren’t following sponsors. If you’re hoping to be in the running for all prizes, please be sure to check out which accounts you need to follow and follow them. (The tracker has all the details on it if you’re looking for a list you can tick off!) If you’re not worried about prizes then it’s not a big drama and you can pick and choose who to follow. If I picked you out and you weren’t following the sponsor who’s prize you could have won, I just throw you back into the pool and it’s in the lap of fate if you get picked again.

My #100Days100Blocks2018 Blocks

Triangles started in this group of blocks and for some reason every year they catch people out. I’m not sure whether it’s a mental thing (we all think they’re harder because of the angle) or it’s the extra steps to make them or maybe it’s just a dislike for trying to line up angles, whatever it is this is where people tend to fall off the wagon. I struggled with Block 40 in this group – it looks ok in the photo but in real life you can see that the columns don’t line up like they should and there’s some slippage around the angles. Oh well, done is better than perfect and each block is practice for the next one.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my blocks in one spot. If you’d like to see some even more amazing blocks be sure to check out the hashtag #100Days100Blocks2018 and leave some comments on people’s blocks. You never know, your thoughtful, encouraging and uplifting comment could just be the thing that helps someone fall in love with sewing and quilting.

  1. Hey — all of your blocks look awesome but I think that number 17 isn’t in this group and won’t be in the rest of the groups!! ? I look forward to seeing your finished quilt at the end. Thanks for sharing as always!
