#100Days100Blocks2019 Finished Quilts

#100Days100Blocks2019 has come to and end and all that’s left is to vote on the finished quilt tops that have been submitted by this years participants. I’ve been blown away by the creativity, vision and dedication that this group of quilters have shown in getting their quilt tops finished. It has been a true blessing to be able to see 100+ versions of the quilt that Bec and I designed reimagined through others skills and talents.

#100Days100Blocks2020 kicks off 1 July 2020 and we’ll be using the same pattern: Kinship: 100 Block Fusion Sampler. This will be the 5th year the event is run and I’m already working on making it bigger and better than this years events. Be sure to sign up to my newsletter so you don’t miss any of the event announcements.

The quilts are listed in the order the entries were received with the first entry received in position 1 and the last entry received in position 134. Images HAVE NOT been modified by me and are shown exactly as they have been received. Images are scaled by Google Forms and WordPress to be standard sizes where they exceed the size limits of these platforms.

The button to take you to the voting form is located at the end of all of these entries. Scroll down to see beautiful quilts and then vote.

Just a little about my process: I started with the poppies as a focal fabric and chose all the solids based on the colors in the floral. When placing my blocks, I didn’t worry about how many large or small to put in each row – I just went by color and what I thought looked good! The border was originally going to include a two inch floral border and then a final 4 inch navy border, but I decided it didn’t need it! Thank you so much for hosting this challenge again and I’m really looking forward to next year!”

You only get one voting submission, but you can vote for as many quilts in this submission as you like, simply click on the checkbox for the quilt(s) you want to vote for. You must log into Google to vote. Voting will be anonymous, however to make it fairer for everyone you will be required to log into your google account as a means of limiting vote rigging. I apologise if you would like to vote but do not want to sign up to Google, at this time this is the best platform I have for conducting this vote.

Voting is open from 12:01am 2 December 2019 AEST to 11:59pm 20 December 2019 AEST. Winner will be announced 31 December 2019 AEST.

If you have trouble getting the button to work, you can click here to vote.

I have made the decision to leave quilts in the voting that do not strictly adhere to the rules due to blocks being incorrectly made, trimmed to incorrect sizes or that are a few blocks short of the required number for entry. I have done this because I believe it’s in keeping with the spirit of how I run the event. Mistakes happen to all of us and I extending to others the same grace that the Lord has extended to me.

This will be the last time I will offer a cash prize for any events I run. I have received an email from a participant that was personally abusive and threatened my business. It is obvious that the offer of cash as a prize has brought out the less desirable side of some participants. As per my rules for prizes, I don’t run these events as a means of distributing prizes and I do not support greed. These events take a considerable amount of effort and time to organise and I run them because I want to promote a fun and supportive creative community. I extended the entry deadline because of the confusion and how I would have felt if I’d missed out because I’d misunderstood something. I did it out of kindness and while I understand that it may have been frustrating or disappointing for some I believe on the whole it was a nicer thing to do. It is heartbreaking that extending a kindness has resulted in such an act of disrespect and abuse.

I have collated all the submitted quilts to the best of my ability using the technology that is currently available to me. If you believe there’s a mistake in this list of quilts please email me POLITELY and we’ll work together to get it sorted. It has not been intentional, mistakes happen. The results will of this voting will be final and no threatening or abusive discussion will be entered into about the awarding of the prize. For transparency I will publish the voting numbers for the top 5 quilts.

  2. What a wonderful collection. It is awesome to see the quilts displayed like this – like a virtual quilt show! They are ALL so are GORGEOUS in their own special way. Thank you so much for wrapping-up the swealong 2019 with this photo collection. (no need to attach a prize to this: the virtual quilt show is plenty of reward in and of itself) What an awesome idea?
Thank you again Angie and happy holidays! Hope to join again in 2020 (feeing withdraw symptoms not having to post my daily block posts ?)

  3. Woah! An abusive and threatening email? That’s gotta sting. Some people just suck. I hope all the love and hugs you’re getting now make you feel better! You deserve it!

  4. Angie, I have had the pleasure of communicating with you several times and though I know you are running a business and caring for a family, you have been gracious and patient with me every step on the way. What an awesome event you provide for us, and I ended up with some really cool quilts. I regret not entering into the contest but the plate just got more full. Thank you and Bec for this fun event.

  5. You and @skyberries are awesome, a great job on the pattern. Thank you all SO much❤️❤️

  6. Bullies are out there. I’m sorry to hear about the abuse. I loved the challenge. I’ll do it again. I did finish but not in time, however, I am delighted to see so many that did finish and timely, and how inspiring their work is. Thank you again for such a fabulous Quilt-A-Long!

  7. I voted for 14 quilts!! It was just too hard to pick one. Every single quilt is amazing! I am sorry you had to deal with a mean person, I am super grateful for all the new quilting friends I have made because you put this together. Thank you for your hard work Angie!

  8. Fabulous display and I bet there are many, like me, who didn’t even enter!
Thanks Angie for all you skill and hard work to make this happen.

  9. I have won because I finished … I really didn’t expect to…and even made the deadline…by the skin of my teeth. It was a great journey. Thank you, Angie!

  10. I am so sorry to hear that you were subjected to abuse from a participant. It is very disheartening to hear that. You are clearly a kindhearted person. I know most of us are very grateful for this opportunity to learn and be proud of what we accomplished. Thank you for all of your hard work and inspiration, and for setting a positive and encouraging atmosphere for us to grow in skill and creativity.

  11. Oh wow! It’s so neat to see them all together! Thanks again for all your hard work!

  12. The work that you have put into this 100 day event is phenomenal. I am so deeply disappointed to hear that you have received threats and abusive responses to your kind, generous decisions. I have completed all 100 of my blocks and actually had them assembled into a quilt top on October 3! However, I do regret neglecting to post it for the contest. I did not see to win anything except my own pleasure at sticking to a project all the way through! Many, many thanks, Angie! Judisews

  13. Angie, you have more grace in your pinky then many have in their whole bodies. I loVe you! Nicole
