A BLOG HOP WITH A DIFFERENCE
How do I become inspired and stay inspired?
I think inspiration (like love) is all around us. I think it’s about how you look at your world and you have to be really honest with what your inspiration is.
For example a fabric designer may be the flavour of the month and all the “cool kids” might be using it, but if that fabric does nothing for you then don’t feel bad about that. Own it. Blaze your own path.
I think our inspiration, at times, gets stifled by our desire to be accepted and have our work praised. Sure it’s awesome when everyone loves what you do, but it’s fleeting and you can’t sustain being someone you’re not (whether in your creative life or just life in general). You need to be true to you and if you are you’ll find people who value your work and it will speak to them.
Your time is finite so you have to use it wisely – why spend that precious time trying to be someone you’re not making stuff that doesn’t truly make you happy.
I think enjoying your work and having it reflect your soul is the key to finding inspiration and staying inspired.

I found you through Sewvivor…I loved your projects! Now I follow through bloglovin. Thanks for sharing your creative process.
Hi Andi! Thanks so much for the follow and the support. Hope you continue to find things you like on the blog – I have big plans! ๐ ๐ Hope you have a great day! ๐
Brilliant answers- the inspiration section especially. I am so with you there and wrote something similar when I did the bloghop!
I think Fleetwood Mac said it best when they said “I am who I am”.
I love your thoughts about inspiration! If you’re not having fun, why do it? Thankyou so much for playing along.
Thanks for tagging me. ๐
I agree wholeheartedly with your inspiration answer.
I think you should never be afraid to admit that the current fashion isn’t your thing, but if it is, tell people how you were inspired by it.
Thanks for choosing me. I will try to do you proud!
I agree – I’m all for giving credit where credit is due for inspiring someone.
Nothing bugs me more then when people pass something off as their original thought/concept – there’s nothing new under the sun and you shouldn’t be afraid to give props to the person/people who helped inspire you. IMHO it smacks of insecurity if you can’t thank someone for inspiring you. /rant
Word.
Love the idea of ‘idea noise’ and blazing your own trail. Thanks for the tag, will get on it for next week. Keep creating, you make cool stuff – must be one of the ‘cool kids’
Ha! I wish. (Actually I don’t really – just want to do what I do and hopefully encourage someone else to get out there and blaze their own trail.)
Looking forward to reading your answers. ๐
