A BLOG HOP WITH A DIFFERENCE

How was that for a bit of navel gazing?

Thanks so much Cassie for tagging me in this – it was fun to stop and think about something I tend to take for granted.

I’m going to nominate the talented Caroline of Nightingale Quilts. For those of you not yet familiar with Caroline she’s an Australian Quilt Designer who’s just on the cusp of making it “big”. She does really fabulous work and if you love a good contemporary quilt pattern you need to check out her work.

I’m also going to nominate my partner in quilting crimes, Raylee of Sunflower Quilting. Raylee is the person who takes my quilt tops and adds another layer of magic to them through her wonderful quilting. She’s also one of the people I’m proud to say is in my “support crew” – offering calm advice, technical quilting support and a good laugh.

  2. I agree wholeheartedly with your inspiration answer.

I think you should never be afraid to admit that the current fashion isn’t your thing, but if it is, tell people how you were inspired by it.

Thanks for choosing me. I will try to do you proud!

    1. I agree – I’m all for giving credit where credit is due for inspiring someone.

Nothing bugs me more then when people pass something off as their original thought/concept – there’s nothing new under the sun and you shouldn’t be afraid to give props to the person/people who helped inspire you. IMHO it smacks of insecurity if you can’t thank someone for inspiring you. /rant

  3. Love the idea of ‘idea noise’ and blazing your own trail. Thanks for the tag, will get on it for next week. Keep creating, you make cool stuff – must be one of the ‘cool kids’

    1. Ha! I wish. (Actually I don’t really – just want to do what I do and hopefully encourage someone else to get out there and blaze their own trail.)

Looking forward to reading your answers. ๐Ÿ™‚
